This project was developed for the Customizing Workshop and its aim is to present a reflection about the topic of identity represented on an outfit in order to inspire the audience with a personal interpretation of the matter.
This work was made under an interdisciplinary working method having attached to it various areas linked to fashion that can be seen ahead.
Who we are is one of the most ancient questions of human beings. What is that makes us unique over time, because just like everything that surrounds us, we are constantly evolving, whether it is in a short period (day to day basis) or in an extended time (decades to millennia basis). This evolution can be seen in different aspects of our lives such as; our physical appearance, the way that we think or the way that we behave with others. If all of those elements are constantly fluctuating and changing the question to ask ourselves is; What makes us who we are? and Who we truly are?
The nature of this project matches very well with the theme that we developed. Up-cycling garments that had a previous life and became others represents very well the mutation of an object without leaving behind its true essence.
Choosing to create a style of clothes that have a formal base but simultaneously are combined with layers and playful accessories came from the references used to research the topic of identity.
This project ended with the making of editorial shoots and templates to the pictures based on the playful attitude of the accessories. All of the illustrations and visual identity were made by me.
